Dressing for weather that cannot make up its mind

Eleanora London began on a platform at King's Cross, in the rain, in the wrong coat.

Eleanora had spent a good deal of money on something that looked beautiful in a shop and gave up entirely on contact with actual British weather. She got home, looked at a wardrobe full of similar decisions, and decided somebody ought to be choosing more carefully.

Our Story

We are named for London because that is where we began, and because the city taught us the lesson the whole shop is built on: a wardrobe has to survive the walk.

Then we started sending parcels further out. To Manchester and Leeds, where rain is a settled fact rather than an event. To Edinburgh, where the wind does most of the damage. To Cardiff, to Norwich, to the Midlands, to Cornwall in a week that could not decide between June and November. Four seasons before lunch turns out not to be a London problem at all. It is a British one, and women everywhere in the country were answering it with the same overstuffed wardrobe.

So we choose for all of it. Fabric with some weight to it. Layers that work under a coat without adding bulk. Colour that behaves in grey light instead of disappearing into it. Shoes you can genuinely walk in.

What We Believe In

Every piece in our collection is chosen with the same plain question in mind: is this genuinely worth wearing?

• It survives the walk. From the station to the office to dinner, without a change of clothes.
• Comfortable first. If it needs adjusting every twenty minutes, we do not sell it.
• The price is the price. No inflated figures marked down to look like a favour.
• Chosen for the whole country. We buy for a wet Tuesday in Glasgow as readily as for a bright one in Bath.
• Timeless over trendy. Classic shapes that work across decades, not one runway cycle.

The women we dress are in their 40s, 50s, and beyond. They have careers, families, friendships built over decades, weekends that matter to them. They stopped dressing for someone else a long time ago and started dressing for themselves.
